I was told by two very well-respected orthopedic surgeons that my knee was bone on bone, and I needed both my knees replaced. A buddy of mine told me to try PT with HQ PT. I went into my first session with Jonah knowing that my days with my natural knees were almost over. I was wrong! After the first PT session I was encouraged and knew I might not need surgery after all. It has now been 7 months of PT twice a week with Jonah, and I am amazed that at 68 my legs are stronger than they have been for many many years. Jonah is constantly mixing things up in my workouts, and he watches me closely as I do the exercises he gives me. He knows what I need, and pushes me when I need it, and backs off when he sees I need a lighter day. I am seeing muscles in my legs that I was sure I would never see again! I could not have made the gains without Jonah’s training and guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our physical therapy services in Bend, Oregon.

  • We are intentionally out-of-network with all insurance companies. This allows us to provide higher quality, individualized care without insurance limitations on treatment frequency or duration. Many patients find our cash-based model results in better outcomes at lower overall costs. We can provide documentation for insurance reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network benefits.

  • No, you do not need a physician referral to see us. Oregon is a direct-access state for physical therapy, so you can schedule your free phone consultation and start treatment right away.

  • You'll receive true one-on-one care with a doctorate-level physical therapist for the entire 60-minute session—no aides, no assistants. We use cutting-edge technology like VALD force plates to objectively measure your progress, and we educate you every step of the way so you can stay strong long after PT ends. Plus, our out-of-network model means we work for you, not insurance companies.

  • Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear or shorts work great for knee evaluations. Arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete paperwork and get the most out of your session.

  •  In many cases, yes. We've helped patients who were told they needed knee replacements build the strength and stability to avoid surgery altogether—like Scott, who was told he needed both knees replaced and is now stronger at 68 than he's been in years. Every case is different, but our approach focuses on maximizing function and reducing pain through targeted strengthening and movement education.
